About Me
From a young age, I have had a huge passion for nature & the outdoors. I love being in the garden, growing my own fruit, vegetables and flowers – it brings me so much happiness.
I’ll never forget the look of joy on my Nannas face when I’d bring her flowers from the garden. In her later years, she could no longer get outside because of her Alzheimer’s & Dementia, so I’d bring the outside in for her. Seeing her face light up brought me so much joy, and it taught me that flowers aren’t “just flowers” – they carry love, memories, and meaning.
Sadly, I lost my grandparents in 2018 & 2022. They played a huge part in my life & I’m so very grateful for the time we shared & the memories I have with them. I used the inheritance they left me to pay for my first floristry course. It felt like the perfect way to honour them, and I know they’d be so proud. If you look closely at my logo, you’ll spot forget-me-nots – a little nod to their memory that I carry into everything I do.
Now, as a fully qualified, multi-award-winning florist in Wakefield, I create flowers for all of life’s moments – from weddings and workshops to bouquets and bespoke funeral tributes – and everything in between. Every single arrangement is designed and made by me, in my home studio in Wrenthorpe, with love and care at the heart of it all.
For me, floristry isn’t just playing with flowers. Its, about connection. It’s about creating something personal that speaks when words sometimes can’t. And it’s about sharing the same joy I felt with my Nanna, so that others can feel it too. I genuinely love that I’m able to help people, from tender farewells to celebrations – it’s such a privilege to be a part of it and I put my all into every arrangement.
Being a local, independent florist means the world to me. It means I can create completely bespoke designs, tailoring orders to you - not working from a stock image and with no middlemen involved, it means you get the best value. All of the images I use on my website are of my own work. I also love supporting other small businesses, using independent suppliers & British flowers where I can, and being part of such a warm and welcoming community.
When I’m not in my studio, you’ll usually find me at the seaside (Flamborough is my happy place – if you’ve not been you’re missing out, but shh, don’t tell everyone!), out on a countryside walk followed by a cosy Sunday roast, or tending to my allotment. At home, life is kept lively with my husband Mick – my chief bucket washer and all-round helper – and our two cheeky adorable cockapoos, Pebbles and Pippa.
Whether you’re planning your wedding flowers, looking for a thoughtful tribute, or simply wanting to send a little joy to someone’s day, I’d love to help. You can reach me on 07768 573562 or by email at [email protected].
I can’t wait to hear from you,
